Southeastern Mills selects PHOENIX for BPCS expertise
Southeastern Mills (SEM), a 70-year-old, family-owned company located in Rome, GA, is a valued supplier of flour-based products to the food industry, serving a regional and national customer base. SEM asked PHOENIX to develop a corporate integration system linking automated machine controls with BPCS and other proprietary systems. The project included ongoing support for BPCS 8.2, the creation of a centralized formula development system and the implementation EDI order processing for WalMart. It was critical that the project be completed quickly.
SEM Vice President Jim Ruch said, “PHOENIX very quickly assessed our needs and determined what was required to link our systems with BPCS. This was a huge project and we are pleased with the outcome and ongoing support we’ve receive from PHOENIX.”
Scovill Worldwide-Asia selects PHOENIX for BPCS expertise
Scovill is a leader in the closure fastener industry and is known for such quality names as GRIPPER®, DuraMark, Whispersnap and Specialty. The company recently opened a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Szenchen, China and asked PHOENIX to implement a simplified BPCS footprint to provide complete inventory control processes for the new facility.
The entire project took just four months and was coordinated through the Scovill Worldwide-Asia Hong Kong headquarters.
After implementing the system, PHOENIX trained users on BPCS functionality related to Purchasing, Inventory Control, Accounts Payable, Manufacturing Data Management and Order Entry. PHOENIX also developed in tandem with Scovill a WIP tracking process which gave scheduling/planning departments a tool to monitor item progress throughout production.
Scovill’s IT Director Mike Allred said, “We were dealing with a new facility on a tight time schedule and it was imperative to get BPCS and new processes in place with zero setbacks; PHOENIX delivered as they committed."
Fiberweb selects PHOENIX for BPCS expertise
Fiberweb, one of the world's largest nonwovens producers, enlisted PHOENIX in the fall of 2006 to implement BPCS 8.1 within a five month timeframe at its Queretaro, Mexico operation. While the two companies have enjoyed a longstanding relationship, this was the first international project Fiberweb asked PHOENIX to spearhead.
To meet Fiberweb's expectations, PHOENIX utilized the company's existing Citrix server architecture and successfully implemented order entry, billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger in a multi-currency environment. This project included AS400 query development for VAT tracking and the development of Cognos reports for management internal controls. PHOENIX also conducted in-depth training and wrote detailed procedures and training materials for all applications.
According to Dave Richardson, Director of I.T. at Fiberweb, "Phoenix again proved they are a valuable partner for extending our BPCS solutions." He added, “This was an international project and PHOENIX provided on-site support which helped us get our Mexico operations implemented on BPCS within a very short time.”
